This Series we are journeying through, in Colossians, has really been an encouraging and reassuring expedition for me. As I opened up chapter 3 in Colossians just this morning, Paul continues to teach, through his writing and undeniable passion, that we who belong to Christ are to clothe ourselves with qualities and characteristics that Christ Himself lived and demonstrated. To me, those two words: “clothe yourselves,” implies that there are some things we are to put on and keep on. And no, he isn’t talking about clothes we wear or the latest styles.
This Sunday (3-20-11), we are going to look at what Paul is calling us to, as belongers (which goes deeper than just “believers”), because the life we live and the attitudes and dispositions we “put on” are to be Christ-like and worthy of Him. And much like a wardrobe, there are things that must be discarded and thrown away; just as there are some new things we are to embrace and get encouraged about. Join us this Sunday @ 10:45 a.m. for “Livin’ The Life: Clothe Yourselves…”
Praying joyfully, and yes, singing praises loudly…
